Halftime Hoagies

You'll need

  • 2-3 lbs. sweet (or hot if you'd like) Italian sausage links
  • 3 bell peppers (yellow, red, and orange for a good look) - sliced in 1-2 inch slices
  • 1 large yellow onion, sliced
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes
  • 4 cloves garlic, freshly pressed
  • 1/4 cup of red wine (or beef broth)
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • sliced provolone cheese
  • Hoagie Rolls

Let’s get cooking!

Step 1

Place all ingredients on slow cooker (except cheese), and cook on LOW for 7 hours

Step 2

Remove sausage links and skim fat from slow cooker

Step 3

Slice links into 1″ disks

Step 4

Return sausage to crock and cook for an additional 30 minutes on HIGH

Step 5

Serve with slotted spoon onto hoagie rolls with cheese
